Meet Our Legal Team

Our founder, James E. Smith Jr., has deep roots in South Carolina and in the law. He is the eighth generation of his family to practice law in this region. His family has a long and proud tradition of service in the military, the community and in government.

In addition to being an attorney in private practice, James Smith is a member of the South Carolina House of Representatives and a captain in the Army National Guard. From February 2007 until July 2008, he was deployed as an infantry officer in Afghanistan with the 218th Brigade Combat Team.
